Envirobank on tour educating workers on recycling

To celebrate National Recycling week Envirobank toured construction sites of Sydney Water's SewerFix Wet Weather Alliance (SWWA) to educate and engage the workers in a fun way around recycling and responsible disposal of waste. Over 3 days 763 drink containers were recycled, together they offset a 1271 km car journey.

Watch this short reporter style video to hear what the guys on the ground had to say.

SWWA is an alliance partnership between Sydney Water, UGL Infrastructure, Manidis Roberts, MWH Australia and Parsons Brinckerhoff. It is part of Sydney Water's $560 million SewerFix Wet Weather Program to improve the wastewater system and protect public health and the environment.

“The launch of our new Envirobank on the opening day of our ‘Green It We Mean It’ expo was a great success. The sight of a new and interesting looking machine certainly generated some interest, especially from young children. Mums were lifting their children up to the machine to insert a bottle!

It is our endeavour now to continue to train our customers into becoming accustomed to think of their empty cans and bottles not as rubbish — but as tokens!”
